Our direct printer got a serious upgrade recently and we couldn’t be happier with it! Direct printing is a fantastic solution for businesses and organisations needing high-quality, durable, and custom prints on a variety of materials.
The Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX is an incredible bit of kit. To be specific, it’s a high performance flatbed printer, designed for precision, speed, and versatility. We love that it can print on card, paper, wood, acrylic, fabric, brushed aluminium (nothing reflective!), and more—anything up to 50mm thick. With a maximum print size of 2513mm x 1250mm, it can deliver stunning detail and exceptional colour accuracy, making it ideal for signage, display graphics, and bespoke projects.

Why we love this printer:
— Exceptional Print Quality – Advanced technology like Variable Dot Printing and Waveform Control ensures crisp detail, smooth gradients, and vibrant colours.
— High Speed & Efficiency – Prints twice as fast as previous models, making it perfect for tight deadlines.
— White Ink & Layered Printing – Prints in CMYK plus white, allowing for reverse printing on clear materials, and even raised texture printing (2.5D effects) for added depth.
— Durability & Versatility – Uses LED UV curable inks, which are long-lasting, scratch-resistant, and eco-friendly with Greenguard Gold certification.
— Vacuum Bed for Stability – Holds materials securely in place for precise, high-quality prints, even on tricky substrates.

Some of our favourite Direct Print projects we’ve worked on more recently, include:
— Gorgeous artworks designed by A-side, direct-printed onto ply for The Cornish Bakery
— Life-size pirate figures printed on acrylic for the Maritime Museum
— Interchangeable interpretation panels for the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, printed in reverse onto a clear satin-faced material and mounted on waney-edge larch—allowing easy updates.
— The interactive Pukka Tea game, printed on ply for The Eden Project.
— Cinedrome interpreation panel for WTW Cinemas, The Regal in Wadebridge
— Beer pump clips for Rock Oyster Festival, printed onto satin-faced material with a super quick turnaround.
— Vanilla Harvest interpretation display board for Eden Project, direct printed onto customer-supplied panels, incorporating white ink into the design.

The person behind the Prints!
Lester is our main man when it comes to operating the Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX ensuring all projects run like clockwork and come out beautifully.
Our Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX direct printer runs at high speed, but every project requires meticulous and careful setup–securing materials in place requires precision. Luckily for us, we have Lester at the helm. He’s been here with us for a few years now, and been in the print business longer that he’s care to admit (decades!).
In fact Lester’s incredible career in print has taken him across the world . We don’t mind admitting, if there’s something he doesn’t know about printing, it’s probably not worth knowing! Lester is our main man when it comes to operating the Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX ensuring all projects run like clockwork and come out beautifully.
