The challenge
Together with Design Map, the Parc Signs team worked to deliver one the largest and most immersive exhibition projects that the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall, had ever delivered. This exhibition looked to include innovative and eye-catching ways of displaying valuable specimens from the dark murky depths of the ocean. It also included various narratives and historical events in the world of exploration. We created a Victorian sideshow in a replica circus tent, which was a huge technical challenge but a valuable and exciting centrepiece along with the bubble tube displays.
The response
The Parc Signs technical team took the exhibition design proposal and carefully mapped the exhibition space to create the footprint and layout of each of the different elements. Then, taking each element we produced technical drawings for both our in-house team and external production partners, including Sailshape, who mapped the circus tent for fabric; Apollo Creative, who produced the bubble tubes; and ICA Creation, who created the mythical monsters from illustrations.
The outcome
As a team, we unveiled a visually impactful and immersive exhibition, delivering an engaging and interactive experience for visitors of all ages. Due to Covid, this exhibition remained in place for an extra year, and upon completion, the key pieces travelled to Chatham Historic Dockyard.
